Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tater Tot Games ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and shares information when you play our mobile games or visit this website (together, the "Services"). It applies to every game we publish. Our titles are listed on the games page.
We build our games to collect as little as possible. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run any third-party analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software inside our games.
Contents
1. What we collect
Our games do not have accounts in the usual sense. There is no sign-up form, and we never ask for your name, email address, postal address, phone number or location in order to play. What our games do collect is:
- An anonymous player ID. When the game first starts it signs in to Unity Gaming Services as a guest. This creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name or email. It is the only identifier we hold, and it does leave your device.
- Your game save. So that your progress survives a reinstall or a new phone, your save (progress, in-game currency, inventory, settings) is uploaded to Unity Cloud Save against that anonymous ID.
- Leaderboard entries. Games with an online leaderboard submit your score and the display name you choose for it. A display name is visible to other players, so please do not put personal information in it.
- An optional Google Play Games link. If you choose to link your Google Play Games account, we receive the identifier that lets us reattach your existing save to you. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not read your Google profile, contacts or email.
- Anything you send us directly. If you email support, or sign up for launch news on this website, we hold your email address and whatever you write to us.
Our games include no chat, messaging or friend list, so there is no player-to-player content for us to store.
2. How we use it
- To run the game and save your progress across devices;
- To place your score on a leaderboard, in the games that have one;
- To reattach your save to you if you reinstall or change device;
- To answer your support requests;
- To send launch news if you asked us to; and
- To keep the Services working and comply with the law.
3. What our games do not do
We are stating these explicitly because a great many mobile games do them and ours do not.
- Advertising. No game we have released contains advertising software of any kind, and we do not collect or use a mobile advertising identifier.
- Analytics. We do not run the Unity Analytics service, Google Analytics for Firebase, or any equivalent SDK, so we hold no record of how you play.
- Crash reporting. We do not run Crashlytics or any equivalent, so crashes are not reported back to us automatically.
- Device identifiers. We do not collect your device model, advertising ID, IP-based location or any hardware identifier.
- Profile data. We do not collect a real name, an email address inside the game, contacts, photos, microphone input or precise location.
One technical note for completeness. Unity projects ship with a built-in engine module named unityanalytics, which is present in effectively every Unity game. It collects nothing unless the Unity Analytics service is switched on, and we have not switched it on.
4. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract (running the game you asked to play, including saving your progress), legitimate interests (keeping the Services working and secure), consent (marketing emails, and linking a Google Play Games account, both of which you choose), and legal obligation.
5. Who we share with
We share the minimum needed to run the games:
- Unity Technologies, for Unity Gaming Services: anonymous sign-in, Cloud Save and Leaderboards. This is where your anonymous ID and save data are stored.
- Google, as the distributor of our Android games through Google Play, and for Google Play Games sign-in if you choose to link it.
That is the entire list. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a sale of the business. We do not sell your personal information.
We do not currently publish on the Apple App Store. If that changes, this Policy will be updated before an iOS version ships.
6. Purchases
Some of our games offer optional in-app purchases and some do not. Where a game has no purchase option, no purchase data exists for us to hold.
Where a game does offer purchases, they are handled by the app store or payment provider rather than by us. We receive a confirmation that a purchase happened and what was bought, so that we can deliver it. We never receive or store your card number or full payment details.
7. Advertising
A game that does not show advertising collects no advertising identifier, and carries no ad software at all. At the time of this update, that is true of every game we have released.
We may release a free game in future that is supported by advertising. If we do, we will update this Policy before that game is released, name the advertising provider here, and disclose it on that game's store listing and on its page on this website. We will not quietly add advertising to a game that shipped without it.
8. Children
Our games feature mature themes and are intended for adult audiences. They are not directed to children under 13, or the higher minimum age required in your region, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Data retention
Your save data and anonymous player ID are kept for as long as you use the game, so that your progress is waiting when you come back. Both are removed when you delete your data (section 10). Support emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards.
10. Your rights, and deleting your data
Depending on where you live, including the EEA, UK and California, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Deleting everything from inside the game
Where a game includes this option you will find it in its Settings screen, and confirming it needs no support ticket. That single action:
- deletes your save record from Unity Cloud Save;
- deletes the anonymous Unity player account itself, so the identifier described in section 1 stops existing and the next launch creates a genuinely new one; and
- deletes the save file on your device.
The game reports which of those steps succeeded rather than assuming. If it could not reach the cloud, it says so and asks you to try again while online.
One honest limit. A score already submitted to a leaderboard is not removed by this action, because the leaderboard service provides no per-player delete. What remains there is a score attached to a player ID that no longer exists. If you want a leaderboard entry removed as well, email us and we will do it by hand.
If a game does not have that screen yet
We are rolling it out across the catalogue, so not every game has it today. Until a game does, email [email protected] and we will delete your save data, your anonymous player account and any leaderboard entries for you. Both routes reach the same result.
11. Security
Data travelling between the game and Unity Gaming Services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, give a more prominent notice. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
14. Contact us
